About Michelle

Michelle is a Mental Health Social Worker who has 16 years clinical experience in both public and private health settings. Michelle has a Social Work Degree, Diploma in Community Services, Certificate IV in Alcohol and Other Drug Work and has studied various counselling/therapy modalities, including Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. Michelle's clinical experience has included working with adolescents, women, men, families and children.

Michelle is an accredited member of the Australian Association of Social Workers.

Michelle provides counselling and therapy using a variety of modalities and treats each client as an individual. Not a 'one size fits all approach'. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Art Therapy, Chair Work, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy and Emotionally Focused Therapy to mention a few, make up her eclectic approach to counselling and therapy.

Along with Psychologists, Mental Health Social Workers can provide counselling under Medicare to people who meet the criteria for a Mental Health Care Plan. A referral can be obtained from a GP. Michelle also provides counselling/therapy to people without a GP referral (see fees and rebates).
